A Generational Opportunity
Our energy system underpins nearly every aspect of modern life. It powers our economy, shapes the health and comfort of our communities, and provides the foundation for prosperity and opportunity.
Today, much of the infrastructure that delivers that energy is reaching the end of its limits or useful life. This moment presents both a challenge and an opportunity: whether to replace them with more of the same, or to modernize them in ways that improve resilience, strengthen energy security, and better serve future generations.
HEET is launching the TENs (Thermal Energy Networks) Project Pipeline to support this broader public purpose.

We believe trust, shared learning, and collaboration are essential to scaling Thermal Energy Networks. And we believe that by working together, communities can move farther, faster, together.
Grounded in Practice
Since 2017, HEET has driven forward the scaling of Thermal Energy Networks through science, policy innovation, building common ground, and real-world project leadership.
Today, HEET is a Thermal Energy Innovation Hub, bringing together lessons learned from communities, utilities, policymakers, public housing agencies, researchers, practitioners and more. This work has made one thing clear: communities should not have to solve the same problems over and over again. The Project Pipeline is HEET's commitment to changing that.
The Project Pipeline is a cohort-based learning network that helps communities learn from one another, avoid common pitfalls, access relevant expertise, and make informed decisions for their local contexts and priorities. HEET will serve as a clearinghouse for the expertise, relationships, and lessons learned emerging across the TENs ecosystem, helping communities build stakeholder alignment, accelerate learning, reduce costs and access project-specific support as their needs evolve.

Who can participate?
The Project Pipeline is open to anyone seriously exploring the development of a thermal energy network. Whether you represent a utility, municipality, community organization, institution, developer, or project team, the Pipeline is designed to support stakeholders working to advance thermal energy networks in their communities.
